Golden Routes Project


The Golden Routes Project ,that will make with the support of İstanbul 2010 European Culture Capital agency, started in 2 december. Project will meet Turkish art and artists in different 4 routes in 18 countries and 29 cities until 2010. The project will be in the way of Evliya Çelebi, Piri Reis,Franz Listz and Jules Verne who have immense imagination.First stage of the project is "In the way of Jules Verne/ Black Sea Voyage". This stage have the route of: Bulgaria Varna, Romania Köstence, Ukraine Odessa, Russia Soci, Georgia Batum. Second stage will be the "In the way of Evliya Çelebi". This stage includes the Balkans: Bulgaria, Makedonia, Kosovo, Serbia ve Bosnia Herzogevina. Last stage will be the "
In the way of Franz Liszt.Finally it will arrive to Pecs.

14th London Turkish Film Festival


The 14th Turkish film festival will make in London during 5-18 december.21 films will show in 5 cinemas ; BFI Southbank, Barbican, Odeon Covent Garden, Rio Cinema and Odeon Halloway Road . Gala will make in British Film Institute at 5 december evening.

Peace Concert in Brussels

With the support of 2010 European Culture Capital agency there will be a "peace concert" at 3 december in Brussels. The details of concert was announced with a meeting in Conrad Hotel.There will be Turkish, Greek, Cypriot, Armenian, Jewish, Iranıan(persian), Egyptian and American pianists in the concert. The songs written by well-known composers will sing during this culture activity.

Ayazaga Culture Center for 2010 Activities


Complex, that was building since 1995, will have a concert hall with 2500 seats, multipurpose hall with 950 person capacity , assembly hall and cinemas with 450 person capacity it will be the biggest culture center in the Turkey. The complex will be completed during 2010 and will be ready for 2010 activities.

What is it-European Culture Capital ?

The idea of "European Culture Capital" was came up with first time in 1985 by Greece Culture Minister Melina Mercouri. Same year European Union Council of Ministers determined the content and put into practice. From 1985 to 2000 one cities of countries which are member of European Union was selected as European Culture Capital. In 2000, European Culture Capital title was given more than one city because of new millennium and also it was started to given candidate of European Union countries' cities.
